¶ Rating
🥈 Silver, provisional. The tier comes from the upstream beta status and its open issue list, not from a start-to-finish run here. The port covers the essentials (disc import that validates and remembers the image, widescreen, frame rate, resolution, controller mapping, save states) with official builds for four platforms, but it is beta software with known Android performance ceilings and unfinished widescreen edges. Re-rate after a full playthrough.
¶ Notes
- The launcher imports your disc once. It copies the image into its own data folder and patches that copy, leaving the original file untouched. One disc is installed at a time; Change Disc replaces it.
- Graphics: Vulkan first, with an automatic switch to OpenGL when the driver cannot start Vulkan. Linux needs glibc 2.35 or newer.
- What it adds: widescreen 16:9 with the HUD at the screen edges, or the original 4:3; 60 fps by frame interpolation or the original 30; internal resolution and anti-aliasing; camera control on the C-stick; battle speed up to 4x; encounter, EXP, gold and magic EXP rates; invincible mode; five save-state slots plus a field auto-save every 10 minutes.
- Saves: imports memory cards from Dolphin or a real GameCube (
.gci,.gcs,.sav, a whole.raw/.gcpcard) and save states from this port on another device. - Mods: romhack support, tested with Maeson's rebalance, and HD texture packs from
.7zfiles. Neither is included. - Controls: the in-game settings menu is Z plus Start. Settings also exist in the launcher.
